It is alleged that the app crashes immediately on startup. Some even get the ‘WhatsApp couldn’t start’ error message on their iOS devices.
Due to this issue, users are facing difficulties in retrieving their existing messages. Also, those without a recent backup are in a dilemma as they are bound to lose access to their chats and any important information.
One of those affected complains that after the recent update WhatsApp keeps on crashing on their Samsung Galaxy FE 20 5G smartphone. Allegedly, they are even unable to take backup of some of their important messages.

Those affected have tried rebooting their smartphone, clearing the app’s cache, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but still, they are unable to use the app.
Unfortunately, WhatsApp has not officially responded to the matter.
Potential workaround
Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help solve the problem for some Android smartphone users. It is recommended that you downgrade to the last stable version of the app.
We do hope that WhatsApp resolves this crashing issue as soon as possible.
