Vivo is a top name in the smartphone industry. The company sits well in the top 10 leading vendors and is still growing its fanbase in markets outside Asia.
But to better compete in the west, Vivo will have to do better with software updates. In addition to improving the experience of its in-house Funtouch OS skin, the company needs to step up on the frequency of rolling out software updates.
The company’s Funtouch OS 10 that first brought Android 10 OS, for instance, is only available for a handful of devices. Sure, a good number of devices is still testing the beta version, but with Android 11 with us, Vivo really needs to step up on this front.
Not long ago, the company unveiled a set of new devices namely Vivo X50, Vivo X50 Pro, and Vivo X50 Pro+. These three are set to begin selling in China pretty soon, but that’s not why we are here.
Out of the box, the trio runs on the latest stable version of Android 10. However, unlike other Vivo devices on the new OS that have Funtouch OS 10, the Vivo X50 set has Funtouch OS 10.5, an improved version of the former.
With the devices yet to go on sale, no one out here actually knows much about the experience of using the updated Funtouch OS 10.5. But luckily enough, we have bumped into a series of images showcasing the new skin alongside a short video as well.
The information above comes from Weibo, a China-based social media platform, as well as the official Vivo community forum (China). What remains unclear to this point is if Funtouch OS 10.5 will be made available to other devices.
