Vivo Z1x users facing a number of bugs after Funtouch OS (Android 11) update

Here’s the thing, there is no such thing as a perfect piece of software. It is for this very reason that we see regular updates to apps and phone software.

Of course, companies have systems in place to try and minimize the risk of having a faulty update sent out to users’ devices, hence the Beta programs and greyscale rollouts.

Recently, we saw reports that Vivo was finally rolling out stable Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 to users of the Vivo Z1 Pro and Z1x, albeit in greyscale.

Now, it is coming to light that the update might have a few pretty grave issues, making the user experience a little less than ideal.

A quick scroll through the community forums reveals a number of bugs and issues with the Vivo Z1x Android 11 build surrounding key aspects of the device.

Users are reportedly facing battery drain issues, general system lag, and a few other bugs, bugs that weren’t present in the previous Android 10-based builds.

First of all thanks for the Android 11 update,I got that update yesterday in my Vivo Z1x but today I am experiencing unnecessary battery drain and slow charging and heating issue,Please release a patch to fix these issues.Thank You.

Some users of the Z1x also note that they are unable to take advantage of the device’s dark mode following the recent update to Android 11-based FuntouchOS 11.

Another considerable section of these complaints note that they’re facing lag issues when zipping through the system or even using third-party apps (1,2), an issue that wasn’t present in previous builds.

There are some bugs on Vivo Z1x which small but it also counts for best user experience. Network speed display on the notification bar had freezed for 0.20kb/s it’s not changing and also not getting off

Another pretty serious issue affecting these device owners has to do with the battery. Users are pointing out (1,2,3) that the battery life on Android 11 is considerably poorer and the charging is slower.

Other reported issues with this seemingly faulty build include picture-in-picture not working, poor RAM management, just to mention a few.

While many of these bugs have since been acknowledged by Vivo through the official Twitter support channel, it remains unclear when they’re going to be addressed.
