Vivo Y12 was unveiled way back in July 2019 with Android 9-based Funtouch OS 9. The device owners waited for a while but Vivo failed to push the first major OS update of Android 10.
Now, the company has shifted its focus on rolling out its Android 11-based custom skin — Funtouch OS 11 — which it has seeded to a handful of top-end devices already.
We recently saw the Vivo X50 and X50 Pro bag the stable version of Android 11. In the same piece, more devices in Vivo’s Android 11 bucket list were also unveiled.
Vivo Y12 users have since been on the edge of their seats as the company has an even better offer for its Vivo Y12 user base.
In a recent development, it appears that the wait has finally come to an end as the Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 has begun rolling out to the Vivo Y12 handsets in India
The Android 11 update takes the updated version to vivo rev 6.71.46 and is compiled in a 3.68 GB package.
We are yet to receive more user reports to understand the update’s reach and the list of features that it brings along.
As per Vivo India care, the Android 11 update for Vivo Y12 is under greyscale testing and may take some time before reaching the masses.
We are glad to inform you that the Android 11 version is released for vivo Y12 handset (under the greyscale test). You will be notified soon.
Nevertheless, it still comes as a piece of good news for the device owners. Vivo has taken a big leap by deciding to skip Android 10 and making a direct transition to Android 11.
It is interesting to see Vivo paying significant attention to a 2-year-old device. The company has a bunch of more devices lined up to receive the big OS update in the coming months.
