Valheim bug where save files are getting corrupted or worlds resetting on Xbox gets acknowledged

Developed by Iron Gate Studio, Valheim is one of the popular titles in the survival and sandbox video game genre. It recently received the v0.214.300 patch with bug fixes and improvements to some game elements.

For instance, it addresses the issues where a player would not respawn at the location where they manually saved their game and where some special characters appeared as squares and symbols.

However, despite the update, some are facing difficulties with the gameplay.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Valheim players are facing an issue where save game files keep getting corrupted every time.

Allegedly, the game’s world also resets when one tries to load an old save game file. Due to this, gamers have to re-play the entire campaign from the very beginning.

Those affected have now taken to social media to express their frustration.

A player complains that the game crashes as soon as they try to manually save their game progress. They also mention that their entire progress resets to day one as soon as they load any of the saved game files.

Another gamer alleges that whenever they are playing co-op on their Xbox console the game crashes. They also say that the world resets, and loads without any in-game elements, time and again.

Fix the save corruption asap or it’s pointless for Xbox friends to play in their worlds.

Gamers are now requesting the developers to fix this glitch as soon as possible.

Fortunately, the Valheim support team on Twitter has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently investigating it. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

We do hope that Iron Gate Studio resolves this issue soon.
