While announcing their forthcoming OnePlus 6 Red variant, the Chinese company disclosed that it will be an 8GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration device, priced at $579 (like other OP6 devices in same configuration range).

Available in the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration, the OnePlus 6 Red will be priced at the same level as our other OnePlus 6 variants.

The same can be seen on the company’s official website.

But now, when the red variant’s availability date is nearing, we have caught hold of something that may interest those planning to buy it. Instead of $579, the device may be available for $529.

OnePlus 6’s official website (region-US) notifiesThe Red You Need‘ will be available for $579 (as can be seen in the following screenshot).

But when you click on the ‘Learn more‘ tab right underneath the notification, it opens a new window displaying OnePlus 6:The Red You Need From $529‘.

This leaves us speculating about whether the company is planning to release OnePlus 6 Red in a lower configuration of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, as all other models with similar configuration are available at $529.

And if that’s not the case, (assuming that the $529 price is a typo on OnePlus’ official website and what they intended to mention was $579), even then the ‘From $579’ message would have conveyed the existence of 8GB/256GB variant as well.

Right now everything is up in the air. We hope OnePlus clears up the confusion soon. Let us know if you are seeing this price discrepancy in your region as well.

And for those of you who are hearing about this variant for the first time, you can take a look at the model in the following official video:
