Twitter recently reopened the account verification application for users. Now, anyone can apply to get the sought after Blue Tick.

The Blue Tick badge basically indicates that the Twitter profile belongs to someone influential and trustworthy.

However, new guidelines for the verification application were also released where applicants have to belong one of the six required categories.

These categories include gaming and sports, organizers/activists/other influential individuals, journalists and news organizations, brands/companies/organizations, and government.

Also, Twitter is planning to add more categories like religious leaders, academics, and scientists later this year.

While it is good to see that Twitter has again opened the verification program after three years, several users are facing an issue with it.

As per multiple reports, Twitter users are getting the ‘You can’t request verification right now’ message while applying for the account verification.

It is possible that this issue might be occurring due to high volume of Twitter users are raising the request for account verification.

Since the account verification program is now available for all Twitter users, it is only natural that a plethora of requests will be made.

Moreover, users might also be facing the said issue as their Twitter profile might not be eligible for the Blue Tick badge.

However, this is still based on our speculation as Twitter has not made any announcements on the matter so far.

Hopefully, Twitter makes some sort of acknowledgement for the said issue as a lot of users are experiencing the same.

That said, we will be back with more details as and when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
