Over the past few years, we have seen big tech companies going that extra mile to acquire smaller platforms that add value to their offers or building up new features into their social media offers.
Facebook now owns WhatsApp, one of the most popular Instant Messing platforms in the world, along with others like Instagram, Oculus a host of many other platforms.
Not to be left behind, we’ve seen Twitter innovating and coming up with features such as Twitter Spaces, a full-on Clubhouse replica that is slowly but steadily filling a need we never knew we had.
Sometime late last year, we saw Twitter introducing Fleets, a feature on the mobile app that was set to take on WhatsApp statuses, Snapchat, and Instagram Stories.
Not too long ago, we also saw reports of the launch of Twitter Blue. Twitter Blue is a subscription version of the microblogging and social networking service. The service, launched in June 2021, adds extra features to a user’s Twitter account for a monthly subscription.
Now, it is coming to light that the company could be working on yet another feature, this time targeted at businesses, and professionals. The alleged feature dubbed ‘Twitter for Professionals’ has been rumored for a while.
Today, however, a popular Twitter leaker, Alessandro Paluzzi, has graced us with screenshot proof that this feature could very well be in the works.
In the leaked screenshots, it is shown that this feature could be treated towards businesses and establishments that offer services like Entertainment, Education, Aviation among many other categories that can be searched through.
Little else is known about this feature but from what we know so far, it is evident that this feature has Instagram for Business in its crosshairs.
“Professional Profiles are a new tool that will allow businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators — anyone who uses Twitter for work — to display specific information about their business directly on their profile.”

An Instagram business profile is a special account that Instagram offers to brands and organizations. With a business profile, users get access to additional features, such as Instagram Insights and the ability to run ads. From Twitter’s description above, these are pretty similar.
Over the past few years, we have seen an increase in the number of small businesses that primarily focus on dealing with customers directly through these social media platforms.
As a result, these social media platforms now offer these business people tools to help them work better in the said spaces. WhatsApp Business, Instagram for Business, Facebook Marketplace, and now, Twitter for Professionals; these are all geared towards the growth of this trend.
It remains unclear when we shall see this Twitter for professionals feature rolling out as the company has let on very little info other than the acknowledgment of the existence of such a feature or plans to bring it to market.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
