TweetDeck is Twitter’s official social media dashboard application, which allows users to analyze or manage their accounts with ease.

The app allows platform users to view their timelines, mentions, direct messages, lists, and much more all at once. One can also monitor and manage multiple Twitter profiles efficiently.

The company has recently banned support for third-party Twitter clients. Due to this decision, various app alternatives like Tweetbot, Tweetcaster, and Twitterrific have now completely stopped functioning.

TweetDeck could become Twitter Blue exclusive feature

As per reports (1,2) from the Twitter Takeover, it is quite a possibility that TweetDeck could become a Twitter Blue exclusive feature.

Twitter Blue is the platform’s paid subscription, which adds a blue checkmark to one’s account and offers early access to some new or exclusive features.

For instance, the subscribers can edit Tweets multiple times, upload videos at full HD quality, and set NFTs as their profile picture. They can also change the app’s icon appearance on their smartphone or tweak the in-app colors.

Multiple users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) are disappointed after hearing about it. Some claim to have already stopped using the platform ever since Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter.

I don’t use Twitter ever since Musk took over but I feared this was coming and I think I bailed at the right time. Tweetdeck was very useful to me and it’s a shame it’s going to be pricewalled.

I switched to tweetdeck when they killed tweetbot. This will be the end of me on twitter. I will be all in on reddit then, I need to spend some time to create multireddits.

The company had even previously reduced the subscription price from $7.99 to $4.99 per month in order to attract more customers.

However, some were unhappy and questioned the company’s move, as even the paid subscription did not offer them an ad-free experience. So, it is quite possible that Twitter could make such a move in order to increase its revenue.

Also, it is worth mentioning that such speculations have been made by various news publications since last year, but nothing has changed until now.

But a recent snapshot of the site’s internal coding conveys a different story. A user on Twitter noticed that TweetDeck UI pieces were added to and removed from the main Twitter site recently.
