Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empire (IE) should be unlocked and free for all, petition players

Total War: Warhammer 3 is one of the most popular games in the war strategy genre. It receives expansions from time to time with new campaigns and much more content.

While Total War: Warhammer 3 is a solid game, it hasn’t been without its issues. Players have reported visual bugs, unavailable DLC content and more.

The Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empire (IE) expansion is now available, but under some conditions with which many players do not agree.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Immortal Empire is an expansion that brings a huge new campaign. However, it is not enough to have Total War: Warhammer 3 in your library to enjoy it.

The developers decided that the expansion will be accessible to those players who have purchased the entire current trilogy of games (Total War: Warhammer 1, 2 and 3).

Many players consider this requirement excessive, since you are ‘hiding’ a very important part of the game behind a big paywall.

Immortal Empires should be playable for all Warhammer 3 owners

With previous games and respective DLCs races/factions being locked for people who own them. I own all games and all DLCs, I think it worth the price, but I’m balls deep on this series with more than a thousand hours played on all 3 games.

Locking IE behind this huge paywall puts people off, I was trying to convince a friend who likes strategy games into buying them and even with sale right now the price would be really expensive.

Also, it seems quite unfair that even players who own Warhammer 3 cannot enjoy an update for that game.

That said, many Total War: Warhammer 3 players started a petition on Change.org (accessible from this link). The petition asks Total War devs to make the ‘Immortal Empire’ expansion free for current Warhammer 3 owners.

There are over 11,500 signatures at the time of writing this story. While nothing guarantees that the situation will change with the signatures, it is a good way to raise the voice so that Total War devs listen to players.
