Brawl Stars community disappointed with skin selection voting as Gladiator Colette wins despite fewer votes; company justifies

Brawl Stars is one of the most popular mobile games. Available on both Android and iOS, the fast-paced 3v3 game lets you enjoy multiple game modes which last no more than 3 minutes.

You can choose from a variety of characters called Brawlers, each of which have unique abilities.

Recently, Supercell, the developer responsible for making Brawl Stars, started a campaign a couple of weeks ago asking users which Colette skin they would like to see in the game.

And after two weeks, the company declared the result with Gladiator Colette by Francy Artist as the winner.

The campaign result infuriated many users since Gladiator Colette managed to get only 5K votes compared to Broken Timeline Colette with 44K votes.

Players lashed out their frustration on Twitter and Reddit and asked Supercell why they ask users to vote when they clearly don’t want to listen to the community.

5K > 44K? I think not… And Im not the only one,seriously WHY WE EVEN VOTE!?When Supercell just chooses and dont even look at votes… Even if it cost like 300 gems.It seems like Francy must win no matter what is in competition 🙁 This is not hate on Francy (I respect him he is so good at his job)

Why supercell why this skin only had 5000 votes didnt even fit the theme ( this skin looks like valentines theme ) of lost in time and they choose it while broken timeline colete with 40k plus votes at no 1 fitted the lost in time theme perfectly but didnt got chosen . But still why didnt you chose?

Dani, the Brawlstars Community Manager, quickly clarified why they decided to choose Gladiator Colette as the winner when it clearly had fewer votes than other skins.

While hurling negative comments on Supercell, players also tagged Francy Artist, the winner of the competition.

Following the hate comments and negative comments, the artist has now deactivated his Twitter account. He also announced that he is now working at Ocellus Art as a concept artist.

We are sad to hear that Francy Artist received backlash even though none of it is his fault. It is Supercell who made the decision.
