5G NR (New Radio) is the next big thing especially in terms of mobile networks. Devices like the OnePlus 8 series, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, and Galaxy S20+ 5G support New Radio on various networks including Sprint.

While T-Mobile is currently the only network service provider which offers Standalone 5G network service, Sprint is also among the top network service providers to offer New Radio services albeit Non-standalone.

However, users have been facing some issues while making calls on their Sprint OnePlus 8 after the September update. Many subscribers are taking to online platforms like Reddit to share their concerns regarding the calling issues on Sprint 5G network after the September update.

Apart from that, the user has also stated that the problem gets fixed after resetting the network settings but the network switches to LTE. This clearly indicates that the latest Sprint update might have triggered these issues on the carrier-locked OnePlus 8.

It must be noted that Sprint is now a part of T-Mobile and a T-Mobile subscriber has also shared some information about similar issues stating that the information comes from T-Mobile support.

As per the shared information, devices including the OnePlus 8 5G, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, and Galaxy S20+ 5G are affected by the known issue which causes dropped calls, inconsistent 5G data, unable to receive calls, and unable to receive SMS.

The network service provider has also stated that the issue is being looked into and a new software update will be deployed on September 26, 2020. Also, the faulty software version 10.5.20.IN55CB has been pulled by Sprint.
