Spotify and Twitter are among the most used apps when it comes to audio steaming and microblogging services respectively.
Also, Spotify users like sharing their favorite playlists and songs on Twitter and other social media platforms. However, an issue has been troubling Spotify users while sharing links on Twitter.
According to multiple reports, the Spotify link preview is not working or appearing on Twitter for many.
It is unclear what the actual cause of the problem is but the number of user reports clearly indicate that the issue is widespread.
This is certainly inconveniencing Spotify users as they are unable to highlight their favorite songs on the microblogging platform.
sharing spotify links was one of my personality traits twitter pls get your shit together and bring the old link back

I just noticed that Twitter doesn’t embed Spotify links anymore and it looks so big and ugly. This is like when they stopped embedding Soundcloud links.

Also, there have been no comments on the matter from either Twitter or Spotify support which is further adding to users’ dilemma.
However, one of the affected users has found a possible workaround for the said issue. It seems removing the part after and including the ‘?’ from the Spotify link gets the preview working on Twitter.
For example, editing the link https://open.spotify.com/track/4AHNi316rl3KI3hKIsdxZe?si=cm-zWEEfQsiw1Vnf9r7rgQ&dl_branch=1 to https://open.spotify.com/track/4AHNi316rl3KI3hKIsdxZe enables the preview on the microblogging platform.
This further indicates that the issue might be with Spotify links and not related to Twitter as editing the links enables the preview for them.
However, this is still based on our speculation as both service providers have not provided any clarity on the matter so far.
Hopefully, Spotify and Twitter shed more light on the matter or better yet fix it for good so that users can share Spotify links without any hassle.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will report back when more details become available.
