Spotify Autoplay not working on Android issue under investigation

The Spotify app for Android has over a billion installs on the Play Store which makes it abundantly clear how popular it is.

While Spotify does have a pretty decent following, an issue has been spoiling the experience for Android users.

As per multiple reports, the autoplay functionality in Spotify is not working correctly on Android devices. Apparently, the feature doesn’t work with searched songs and only works with user playlists.

Also, the Skip option does not automatically play similar songs when users play songs from their search queries.

So basically whenever I listen to a song in the searchbar and it finishes, it doesn’t autoplay a new song I’ve tried a clean reinstall already but doesn’t seem to fix it

On desktop app everything works fine but on my android phone the skip button only works when I am listening to a playlist but when I have used the search box to find a song and then press skip the song just pauses, all tough I have enabled Autoplay (”Keep on listening to similar tracks when your music ends”) , is there any fix to this issue?

The issue appears to be widespread and Android users have been facing this problem for quite some time now.

While this is certainly inconveniencing many, they may not have to dwell with the said issue for long because Spotify is already looking into it.

This is certainly good news for Android users as a fix for this problem might arrive in the near future.

However, the issue thread does not include any ETA for a fix so it is unclear how long it will take to arrive.

In the meantime, users can try some generic troubleshooting by ensuring that the autoplay function is enabled in the Android app, perform a clean install of Spotify, and connect to a different network.

Hopefully, Spotify resolves the issue soon so that Android users can enjoy their favorite music without any hiccups.
