Spotify is undoubtedly one of the most popular music streaming platforms in the world. It is frequented by users who love listening to podcasts or songs and finding new music.
Not just that, Spotify’s Wrapped also makes the platform special as it gives a glimpse of users’ musical journey throughout the year.
While Wrapped 2022 is around the corner, Spotify still has some issues to iron out for a handful of users.
Spotify app crashing on Apple Watch Series 3
That said, some Apple Watch users (1,2,3,4,5,6) have been facing an issue where the Spotify app keeps crashing or stops responding when opened.
@Spotify the Spotify app is not working on the Apple Watch when not carrying my iPhone. Apple says it is not a watch problem, it is an App problem. Can someone help?

Spotify on apple watch is not working well, so I checked it, but turn off the hand gesture? There’s no such thing in series3. Are you making it so that you can only use apple music?

Reports suggest that it started after the recent watchOS 9.0 update. But some users with Apple Watch Series 3 on v8.7.1 and iOS 16.1.1 are also reporting a similar issue.
It seems that uninstalling and reinstalling the app from both iPhone and watch doesn’t really help fix the issue.
You can check out the video below displaying the inability of the app to open with the Apple Watch.
