For quite some time now, Sony users operating different Xperia X series devices have been chiming – on the official help forum – about two broken functionalities. Firstly, the font size switches back to the default one after restarting the device, and secondly, the sound notification on battery charge completion is missing.

Sony has now officially confirmed both the issues, and will be pushing out software updates to fix them. Let’s take up both the issue one by one.

Issue 1: Font size jumps back to default

Back in November, users with Xperia XA1 series device (including XA1 Ultra and XA1 Plus) started complaining that the font size of their units changes back to the default one on rebooting/restarting, and has to be reset every time.

The problem finally got acknowledged, and the confirmation came from Jonas (from Sony Xperia Support), who said that the ‘font size’ glitch will be fixed in the next update.

You might experience that the font size is changed back to the default size after restarting the device. The font size in Settings menu may show the size you set, but the actual font may appear in the default size. This is a known behaviour that will be corrected in the next software release

Issue 2: No sound notification when battery hits 100%

After receiving the Android Oreo update, an Xperia X Performance user brought it to light that the sound notification which plays once the battery fully charges isn’t popping up.

Soon after the problem was highlighted, it got acknowledged by the same Xperia expert Jonas. They confirmed that the notification glitch which was triggered by Oreo has affected Xperia devices running software version 41.3.A.2.24, and will be rectified in a later software update.

You might experience that there is no sound notification when the battery is fully charged after updating to Android 8.0 (Oreo). This is an unexpected behaviour that will be corrected in a later software release

Well, it’s relieving that the company is taking up these issues one by one, and fixing them. We hope they address other pending matters as well.
