Some Samsung Galaxy S23 users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) are not satisfied with the front camera quality. They allege that the photos are oversaturated, washed out, and lack detail.

Also, the picture quality on both Samsung’s native camera app and third-party camera apps is affected.

They also say that the image shown in the viewfinder differs greatly from the post-processing version. Furthermore, the phones take longer to capture and process selfies.

Another user alleges that the quality of the photos taken from Snapchat via the front facing camera is pretty bad as compared to their old S22 Ultra phone, something another Facebook Messenger user seconds.

Clicking sound when switching to front camera

Some users (1,2,3,4,5,6) also report that they hear a mysterious ‘clicking’ sound from their mobile device whenever they switch between the rear and front cameras or close an application making use of the selfie camera.

It is also worth mentioning that this ‘clicking’ sound issue is not present on every Galaxy S23 series phone. Due to this, some users are concerned whether it is a defect or something normal.

Just got the s23 ultra, when I am in the selfie camera and i open the gallery preview on the bottom left or close the camera app i hear this click sound coming from the front facing selfie camera.

When I open the selfie camera then switch camera or close the camera app. I hear this click sound coming from the selfie cam It’s only really noticable when trying in quiet locations. Is this normal?

Some users claim that this noise could be due to Auto Focus, as the cameras have moving parts for focusing.
