Users have taken to forums like Reddit and Twitter to voice their complaints about the issue.
Some have also reported that they are unable to pay bills for utilities, rent, and other essential expenses.
Others have expressed frustration that they are unable to use their funds as they intended.
Official acknowledgment
Fortunately, team PayPal is aware of the issue and has acknowledged it through a tweet. However, there is no ETA for a solution yet.
Hi there! Thank you for contacting PayPal. I apologize you’re having issues with using Fold cards on PayPal. We’re aware of the issue and our team is working on priority to get it sorted. We do not have an exact time frame. Please allow us some time. Thanks!

On the counter side, team Fold claims that PayPal might have blocked their card on purpose and that they too are investigating.
Potential workaround
We’ve come across a workaround for those affected by the issue.
Users can link their Fold cards directly to Citi credit cards if they want to pay by phone. This should allow them to make payments without any issues.
The user also mentioned that while this is a quick fix to the problem, it isn’t as convenient.
In the meantime, users affected by the issue can also consider using alternative payment methods for their bills such as bank transfers or credit cards. They can also contact their bill providers for alternative payment methods.
We hope that both Fold and PayPal come to terms with each other and provide a solution that helps those affected get back to a convenient experience.
We will keep you posted as the events unfold.
