COD Mobile and PUBG Mobile are some of the most graphically demanding and intense games you can try out on your smartphone. They push mobile gaming to the edge by offering nearly a console/PC level gaming experience.

However, such resource-intensive games do not come without caveats – complaints about lags from budget device owners are quite common.

Further, the fact that the games get updated constantly ensures that there always are new bugs and issues waiting to be encountered.

For example, we recently highlighted a bug that prevented players from selecting a weapon right after it’s picked on Call of Duty Mobile.

But as it stands, not all issues encountered on games like PUBG and COD, or any other game for that matter, are due to bugs in the games themselves. Rather, the trouble is sometimes buried deep in the software that powers a device.

And the latter is exactly what seems to be in the case of Xiaomi’s Android skin presently. There have been several reports from COD players about the game getting stuck (freezing) following the MIUI 12.5 update.

My pubg is not opening. Why is this happening. In both network (data and wifi) my pubg is not opening. If I uninstall the pubg apps and then download then it will open.

And it’s not just freezing that is acting as a cause of bother, as there have also been a few complaints about the game failing to load and showing a black screen instead.

PUBG is also suffering from the very same issues, thus cementing that the issue is indeed linked to MIUI software.

Devices reportedly affected by the problems include Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (Redmi K20 Pro), Poco F2 Pro, Mi 11 Lite, and quite possibly several others.

Thankfully, a community moderator has now acknowledged the issues leading to games like COD and PUBG getting stuck on Xiaomi and Poco devices following MIUI 12.5 updates saying that a ‘future solution’ is being worked on.

While the acknowledgment was in response to a complaint from a Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro owner, it is likely that similar bug-fixing updates will be rolling out to other affected devices as well, given the ubiquitous nature of the issue.
