Meta Ads Manager is an advertising platform that allows advertisers to create and manage ad campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network, and Messenger.
But over the past few days, some Meta Ads managers have reported experiencing poor or inconsistent performance issues with their ad campaigns.

Some have shared their grievances (1,2,3) on Reddit to seek advice from others similar affected. The issues seem to be widespread, affecting various types of campaigns and targeting options.

Zero Conversion during the day. All our sales are made between 12am – 9 am since last week. Does anyone experience the same thing? Now getting really confused if i should turn off the campaigns during the day time and just reset when it turns midnight?

It seems that some are also frustrated by its fluctuating performance.
One theory is that the recent Afterpay day sales, which ended on Sunday, could be the cause of the problem. Afterpay is a popular ‘buy now, pay later’ service that allows shoppers to spread out their purchases over time.

The sales event may have led to increased competition and higher prices for ad placements on Facebook and Instagram, which are both owned by Meta.
However, nothing official has come from Meta itself to confirm or deny this theory.
The company has also not released any statement regarding the reported performance issues or provided any explanation for them.
However, we have come across some points that may be of some help in tackling the high CPM rates:
I changed the placement of my video ads. I only run them on Instagram/Facebook reels, story or feeds. I also leave age open. I only select gender, location and interests. Although, I’m finding that open interests ads maintain more consistently profitable results. I also check my KPIs (key performance indicators) religiously. If they are not good after the first two days of running and ad then I cut the ad OFF. KPIs are your friend.

It’s worth noting that not all Meta Ads managers are experiencing these issues. Some have reported seeing steady or even improved performance during this time.

However, the fact that multiple users are reporting similar problems suggests that there may be a broader issue at play.
With that said, we hope that the poor or inconsistent performance issues affecting multiple Meta Ads managers get resolved at the earliest.
Until then, stay tuned as we will keep you posted as the events unfold.
