Exclusively available on Apple devices, Apple Podcasts is a one-stop shop for listeners that incorporates millions of the world’s most popular podcasts.

And since it’s the end of the year, Podcasts users are demanding the tech giant to release Podcast Wrapped for the year just like Apple Music Replay 2022.

However, it seems that Apple will first need to fix its app as users report that podcasts are currently broken for them. The app worked fine until some of its users began to face issues with downloading or streaming podcasts.

Apple Podcasts users unable to download or play podcasts

As per reports (1, 2, 3), the app throws ‘Unable to download podcasts’ error when users try to download a podcast, while others say that podcasts aren’t playing for them.

Here are some reports for reference:

I’m probably way behind the curve on this but in case it’s significant the Sunday edition of The Bunker (‘Cash Ruins Everything…’) won’t download or play beyond 5:34. This is on Apple podcasts. (Source)

@HeyHeyItsConrad hey man, I’m unable to download any of your podcasts on Apple, have you heard of any issues? I’ve tried others like Cornettes for example and they worked fine (Source)

While some users say they are getting an error when downloading a podcast, others have mentioned that it only partially downloads, then stops and starts over.

Moreover, a section of users is also having problems while streaming podcasts. Those affected say that the podcast only plays for a couple of seconds, then stops and gets stuck.

Judging from the reports, this problem has been bothering Podcasts users for quite some time now and it persists to date, even with the latest iOS 16.2 update.

Sadly, there isn’t any potential workaround we know of that might help fix this problem. So, it seems you’ll have to wait until Apple releases a fix for the same.

We hope that Apple resolves the issue with its app soon since users are unable to listen to podcasts. That said, we’ll update this story as and when we encounter anything noteworthy.
