Of late, the Gmail app is not functioning properly for several users. They report that the app is not only experiencing sync issues, but delayed push notifications as well. Users either don’t receive notifications at all or receive them after a delay of hours. The app does sync, but only when you ask it to do so manually.
The problem was first reported on June 23, 2017, and an expert from Google Products said the following on June 30, 2017.
“I’m working on this issue with my team, I’ll get back to you with an update”.
With other users pitching in, she repeated the aforementioned comment multiple times, with latest posting on July 19.
