Matter of fact, we have highlighted a few new features that will be introduced with the Galaxy S21 series with Samsung’s One UI 3.1 skin such as the option to replace Samsung Daily with Google Discover.

Now, new developments indicate that Samsung will also introduce a new file-sharing application with the One UI 3.1 update that will let users share files securely with other supported devices.

An early report suggested that the new app will make its debut with the Galaxy S21 series and it seems that’s likely going to be the case.

This is because a popular YouTuber — Jimmy is Promo — has also confirmed that Samsung will introduce the Private Share application with One UI 3.1.

Private Share isn’t similar to most other secure file transfer apps that make use of standard encryption. Instead, Samsung is leveraging blockchain technology in order to boost the security of the app.

Users will be able to set an expiration date for the files they share and thus all shared files will be deleted automatically from the recipient’s device after the expiry.

Further, the recipient will not be able to re-share any files since the Private Share application will not feature any option to share received files any further.

For this to work, both parties must have the Private Share app installed on their devices. Therefore, until Samsung starts seeding One UI 3.1 to other phones, the Private Share feature will be exclusive to the Galaxy S21 lineup.

At present, the company is yet to release the One UI 3.0 skin based on Android 11 for many eligible devices. This means that it could be a while before Private Share will actually be useful.

That being said, we may get to know more about the Private Share application on One UI 3.1 from Samsung within a few days.

In the meantime, you can head here to know all about the South Korean giant’s upcoming skin over Android 11.
