New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 27, 2021) follows:

Samsung began seeding the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 back in December starting with the Galaxy S20 series.

And within the past couple of months, the new software has been released to a bunch of devices from the company including the Galaxy S10 series and a bunch of mid-range models such as the Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy M21.

One UI 3.0 brings a ton of new features and improvements as well as redesigned UI elements to enhance the user experience.

But like any other major software update, One UI 3.0 brings along a few bugs and issues that will hopefully be ironed out with upcoming updates.

We’ve been keeping track of all the bugs and issues that have been popping up with the Android 11-based update on Samsung devices. Hence, you can head here in case you wish to know more.

Having said that, we recently came across a thread on Reddit wherein an individual has shared a video of a bug in One UI 3.0 with One UI Home version 12.1.01.15 that apparently causes the launcher to freeze for a couple of seconds after using the swipe up gesture to go home.

The device used to demonstrate the bug is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, however, some individuals on the Reddit thread have confirmed that the issue is present on the Galaxy S10 as well.

Of course, this bug does not completely break the user experience since the homescreen becomes responsive within no time at all.

But this could be slightly bothersome for those who have to switch between apps quickly. Thankfully, several individuals have claimed that the problem cannot be noticed on their devices.

Therefore, it’s highly likely that this bug only affected a limited number of users. It also only seems to be present on devices with the One UI Home version 12.1.01.15 installed.

So if you’re being troubled with the same bug you could simply uninstall all updates from the One UI Home app on the device since it appears to have fixed the issue for some as pointed out by an individual on the thread.

Reverting to OneUI 12.0 seems to solve the problem as other posters have noted. (Source)

To uninstall updates, head to Settings > Apps > One UI Home > Storage and then Clear the cache and data.

That being said, it’s likely that the issue will be fixed with upcoming updates to the One UI Home launcher or via a standard firmware update.

Feel free to drop a comment below letting us know whether or not you’ve noticed the delayed response in the default launcher after using the swipe up gesture with the One UI 3.0 update installed on your Samsung phone.
