It is always refreshing to get updates on your devices. These often bring with them new features, system enhancements, and optimizations and if none of these is available, then the update improves your system security. All-in-all, we look forward to updates on our devices.

In the recent past, we have seen many OEMs step up their update game and consistently deliver timely security updates to their devices, and today, we have a roundup of a number of devices from various vendors that are bagging various updates. Let’s dig in.

Earlier this month, we saw Samsung unveil this year’s Samsung Galaxy Note-line of devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. These premium flagships are only now going out to users who pre-ordered for their units and already, they’re getting an update!

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra devices on Verizon are getting an update that bumps up the security patch level to the latest August 2020 patch. This update with software version number QP1A.190711.020.N986USQU1ATH3

It is not uncommon for new devices to receive day 1 updates to fix bugs that might have been missed during the testing period but since this is a fairly new device that hasn’t gotten to many of its users yet, we should expect a beefier changelog with the next update.

Next up is the Palm phone, also on Verizon. This device is receiving its third system update from the carrier in form of the June 2020 security patch. This update can be identified by its software version 2AGN.

This update’s changelog is equally slim, alluding to little more than a little bump in the device’s Android security patch level.

Away from Verizon, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4s SM-G398FN is also getting a new update. This new build is going out to Galaxy Xcover 4s devices with product code VDC from the Czech Republic (Vodafone).

This update is based on Android 10 and at the time of writing, we don’t have this update’s changelog so we may not know what the update brings to the Xcover 4s. However, we do know that the update bears software version number BTG4. More on this update and the download link can be found here.

Also getting the August security patch is the Nokia 9 Pureview. This update has already been spotted in India and Germany. Presumably, the same update should be rolling out to more regions in due time.

The changelog also hints to little more than a regular security patch and the update weighs in at a little over 30MB.

Nokia is pushing out the same August security patch to the Nokia 2.3. Like the update mentioned above, this update also brings only the updated security patch and little else.
