Seems like Samsung’s appliances are plagued with a lot of issues. We’ve already seen Samsung smart TVs overheating and literally melting, and now, a couple of more issues have come to light, related to the tech giant’s microwaves and ovens this time.
Ovens cannot be monitored through apps
To start with, an issue long reported on the official Samsung help forum is the inability to connect ovens with apps like Smart Home or Smart Connect that are used to control these devices. The problem in question reportedly was triggered by Tizen 2.3.0 update, and continues to be reported with no fix in sight.
While Samsung moderators have been repeatedly saying the company is aware and working on the problem, there’s no info on why it is taking so long to fix it. One of the moderators even shared the official spreadsheet (as can be seen below), clearly revealing that the issue status is still open internally, and the problem affects both Android and iOS users.
Here’s what the concerned moderator’s latest post said addressing the problem:
Microwaves running by themselves
While ovens have connectivity issues, Samsung Microwaves, it appears, have some circuit-related issues. Several users have been complaining that their microwaves are magically turning on by themselves without them pressing any button on the unit.
Take a look at the following user-shared video clearly showcasing the problem:
More research in to the problem revealed the problem has been plaguing some of the older models of Samsung microwaves as well – take a look at user-shared video here and here.
While a good chunk of users have been complaining about their microwaves auto-operating, Samsung moderators are either asking those affected to contact them through private messages for further assistance. Recently, one of the moderators confirmed the issue has been escalated.
Officially, Samsung has been mum on both the issues. We hope the company quickly fixes these problems, or at-least come with up with an official statement (like it did on the Galaxy Note8 battery issue, which was also first highlighted by us).
