Samsung Lock Star Clock style auto-reset bug after restart to be fixed via upcoming update, says Good Lock mod

Samsung has come a long way since its TouchWiz and Experience UI skins over Android.

In fact, some OEMs have started following the design language Samsung used to develop its One UI skin to make navigating the huge screens on new phones a lot easier.

While the company has taken steps to reduce some bloatware and streamline its skin to make it more user-friendly, it still offers a bunch of customization features.

And thanks to Good Lock and its various modules, Samsung users can tweak just about every aspect of the system UI including the lockscreen, homescreen, quick settings page.

Recently, Samsung updated Good Lock and most modules to add support for Android 11. This is something we’ve come to expect every year once a new Android version and a new skin from the company rolls out.

While Good Lock works as expected for most Samsung users, an individual has highlighted a bug with the Lock Star module in Good Lock which causes the Clock size or style to restore back to the default setting after the device reboots.

According to the user, the clock is automatically reverted back to the default size after a scheduled reboot. Normally, the tweaked clock size via the Lock Star app should show up even after a reboot.

Apparently, the problem is known to Samsung as a moderator in charge for Good Lock has made the following comment in response to the user’s complaint (translated from Korean to English):

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by using LockStar. This is a phenomenon in which the clock of the theme is restored according to the priority of the clock setting when rebooting in the context of the theme application, and it will be improved through the next LockStar update. (Source)

Due to the poor translation, it’s unclear what the moderator means exactly, however, the comment does suggest that Samsung will fix the auto-reset issue with the Clock size or style via the next update to the Lock Star module.
