Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 users are still facing an issue where some are unable to remove or turn off ongoing notification icons.
The ongoing notification icons appear on the screen of the watch when certain activities, such as music playback, GPS navigation, or fitness tracking, are in progress.

The icons (1,2,3,4,) remain on the screen until the activity is completed, but in other cases, they persist even after the activity ends, which can be quite annoying for users.
Watchface question
I use the Utility watchface provided by the Google Pixel Watch faces apk. On the preview for the watch face, it shows “THU DEC 14” for example. But when I actually click on it and apply it, the “THU” gets replaced with a calendar. I want the day of the week and that calendar icon isn’t helping. Why is this happening?

One of the most common complaints is regarding the music icon that appears on the watch’s face during music playback.
Users have reported that the icon stays on the screen even after the music has stopped playing and thus obscuring other useful details on the screen.
Apparently, it was possible to turn off the ongoing notification icons on the Galaxy Watch 3, but it seems that Samsung removed this option from recent models, including the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5.
No it’s not a dumb post. Many have a concern over this! It blocks vital information on the watch. Watch 3 had the OPTION to turn off ongoing icons. And just recently you could enter developers mode and turn off the icons there under wear os. Now Samsung removed that too.

This has left users with no option to remove the persistent icons from the watch screen, which is quite frustrating. However, despite multiple reports, there is no official word.
