Original story (published on June 18) follows:

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is waiting to get updated with the Android 10 update somewhere this year, but nothing concrete has surfaced the internet as to when the Android 10 (One UI 2) update will begin rolling out.

If we go by the information provided by Samsung Turkey, the stable Android 10 update for the Galaxy Tab S4 was slated to arrive in June 2020, which is nowhere to be seen at the moment.

The Galaxy Tab S4 came out back in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and since then, has received one major OS update in the form of Android 9 Pie.

Whenever Android 10 hits the device, that will be the last firmware update, if we abide by the update policy of Samsung which guarantees two firmware updates.

Samsung introduced several new features with the One UI 2.0 update, for instance, new animations, revamped quick settings menu, new navigation gestures, improved dark mode, built-in screen recorder, improved face recognition, etc. These features are bound to get anyone excited and Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 users are no exception.

But going by the recent user report, Android 10 (One UI 2) update seems distant as the OEM has pushed a new Android Pie based May 2020 security patchset for the tablet.

Without the availability of an official changelog, it is unclear what this new May security update brings in for the tablet apart from the security patch.

It is a no brainer that Samsung has pushed this May 2020 security update live via OTA in batches. Which means that it will take some time in arriving on all the tablets.

If you own one, then you can head over to Settings>>About Device>>Update>>Check for the software update. If it detects a new update, then you can tap on the notification and install the latest security patch.

Update 1 (June 23)

The Android 10 update for the Tab S4 is now live and also brings in the June security update. Head here for more details.
