New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on June 09, 2020) follows:
The One UI 2.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and its bigger brother, the Galaxy S9 Plus has been elusive for many months. Since the debut of the new version of One UI with the launch of the Galaxy S20 family, S9 users have been gawking at the new skin.
And Samsung has been pretty forthcoming with details on what exactly the company is doing in terms of development of the new skin for the 2018 flagships from Samsung.
Early this month, we got reports that the One UI 21 update for the Galaxy S9 had entered the testing phase. This was quickly followed by a confirmation from a Samsung rep that the update was expected to roll out sometime within the middle of this month of June.
As we approach the middle of the month, understandably, the anticipation among Galaxy S9 users is palpable. Users cannot wait for the update to drop. Today, Samsung has clarified that the update is still in the works, and everything points towards a roll-out of the update some time next week.
“Sorry, the S9/S9+ One UI 2.1 version is in progress with the goal of next week.”
And with that, it is almost official, Galaxy S9 users are in for a treat next week as the much-awaited update to One UI 2.1 will drop. That is assuming that nothing goes wrong within this week of waiting.
With this expected rollout, it also implies that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 shouldn’t be far as well. Earlier reports indicated that the update for the Galaxy Note 9 would come alongside the update for the S9 later this month. However, we haven’t received any further confirmation to that effect.
