Original story (published on June 6) follows:

Samsung’s One UI is arguably one of the most refined takes on Android that we have in the market today. This is a culmination of years of Samsung experimenting with different skins, from TouchWiz to Grace UI and now One UI.

The current edition of this skinned version of Android from Samsung, One UI 2.1 debuted with the company’s 2020 flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S20 family of devices, and has since made its way to other Samsung devices.

One UI 2.1 having debuted in Samsung’s latest and greatest hardware means that the skin is a little heavy, at least for the company’s flagships from a few years ago like, say the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Note 9 from 2018.

Luckily, the version of One UI is still slated to hit those two devices. Earlier reports indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9 would bag an update to One UI 2.1 sometime in June 2020.

This was later followed by reports that the One UI 2.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9 were undergoing testing and would be rolled out as soon as those tests are completed.

New reports indicate that indeed, the company plans to roll out One UI 2.1 to the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9 sometime in mid-June. According to a screenshot of a conversation between Galaxy S9 users and a forum moderator, the official proceeds to confirm that the rollout is slated for deployment in the middle of June.

The moderator proceeds to add that the One UI 2.1 update will also bring Zoom Animation app with all features to the Galaxy Note 9 and the S9 when it finally drops.

Earlier, we had received confirmation that the One UI 2.1 update for the S9 and Note 9 will lack a few features that One UI 2.1 for other beefier devices have. The S9 and Note 9 won’t get Bixby routines with the One UI 2.1 update.
