The Samsung Galaxy S23 is for sure quite an upgrade from the previous generation Galaxy S22 lineup phones, in terms of camera configuration, performance, and battery life.

The new smartphones come with the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Samsung claims that these produce better color levels and depth, as well as offer a more smooth video content playback experience.

However, some are unhappy with the quality of these latest displays.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are not satisfied with their new S23 phone’s display quality because the colors appear dull or washed as compared to the older phones.

Due to this, many are disappointed and have taken to web forums to express their views on the same.

A Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra owner complains that the new display does not look as good as their old Galaxy S21+ display. They further add that tweaking the display settings has a minimal effect.

Another alleges that as compared to their previous Samsung Galaxy S9+, the S23 display looks dull and undersaturated. This is problematic for them given that they are used to a more vivid display.

Does anyone else have this problem since I been seeing more people noticing this, compared to the s22 ultra or even other more budget samsung phones the colors pop more than the s23u, is this a bug or is it the same across the s23 series.

I have both devices to compare side by side. The color temperature is different, with the S22 Ultra being a bit warmer than the S23 Ultra.

Some have even tried tinkering with multiple settings, changing the display modes, and disabling the accessibility features and Eyeshield but to no effect.

In this regard, some Redditors (1,2) say that the S23 series panels have been calibrated to be more natural and life-like.

They further claim that even on the new Pixel 7 and iPhone 14 series, colors appear more ‘color accurate’.
