Original story (published on August 22, 2020) follows:

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series One UI 2.5 update started rolling out yesterday in Europe. We had expected to see the company’s new skin make its way over to the Galaxy S20 series a while back. Matter of fact, we even reported that the One UI 2.5 update was being worked upon for the Galaxy S10 series.

The new One UI 2.5 update for the Galaxy S20 series brings along new features that were first introduced by the Galaxy Note 20 series. FYI, at the UNPACKED event where Samsung unveiled the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, it also announced that it will now provide up to 3 OS updates for some of its devices.

This news alone made Samsung fans a lot happier considering the company has only been pushing 2 OS updates for all its devices including its thousand dollar plus flagships. That being said, the One UI 2.5 update didn’t roll out in all regions at the same time.

Apparently, it now appears that T-Mobile and Verizon Galaxy S20 series units are beginning to receive the One UI 2.5 update. The update is rolling out with the build number BTH3 for T-Mobile users whereas Verizon users are reporting that it comes with the build number BTH2.

We’ve added a few user reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) posted on Reddit below:

As you can see, several users have received the One UI 2.5 update on their Verizon and T-Mobile units. However, it seems Verizon has not yet updated its device software updates page to reflect the One UI 2.5 rollout for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.

That being said, Samsung is also close to releasing the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 later this year. So you can check out our Samsung Android 11 (One UI 3.0) update tracker to know when it arrives on your device.

Update 1 (August 28)

Samsung has now started rolling out Android 10-based update alongside One UI 2.5 for the unlocked variants of the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G and the Galaxy S20+ in the U.S. Some users have taken to Reddit (1, 2) to confirm its arrival.

Update 2 (August 29)

While Verizon and T-Mobile exclusive Galaxy S20 series is currently being update to One UI 2.5, we have the latest entrant as Sprint Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra which has also grabbed the update. At this time there is no confirmation on other models of the Galaxy S20 series receiving this update, it is very likely for the devices to pick up the update soon. To view full story, click here.
