Samsung Galaxy Note 9 One UI 2.1 update rolling out in Canada

Samsung has commenced the official rollout of the stable One UI 2.1 update for owners of the Galaxy Note 9 in Canada. The update arrives shortly after folks in the U.S. started receiving it on their Note 9 units as well.

It has been a while since the One UI 2.1 update started rolling out. The interface came pre-installed on the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Z Flip handsets and has since made its way to the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series.

The first batch of Galaxy Note 9 units to receive the One UI 2.1 update picked it up earlier this month, but this was limited to the European and Korean markets.

Just yesterday, folks on T-Mobile in the U.S. started receiving the OTA update. However, we have documented multiple reports from those who have received the update saying that it messes up with the display resolution.

Whether this will also be the case for Galaxy Note 9 users in Canada remains unknown, but we can only find out if the software is actually installed on the device. So far, those who have received it can confirm it brings version N960WVLU4ETF3, as seen below.

TELUS has already started pushing the One UI 2.1 update and we expect that other Canadian carriers will follow suit sooner than later. The update, besides the 2.1 goodies, also tags along the latest June 2020 security patch in an OTA file that weighs close to 1GB.

Samsung is also lining up yet another One UI update to version 2.5, but it remains unclear whether the Galaxy Note 9 will be part of the eligible devices when the time comes. As usual, we will follow up on this and let you know when we have official confirmation.
