It’s been at least a couple of weeks that users of Samsung smartphones have been complaining about missing Secure Folder-related options on their devices.
Specifically, complainants say the “Move to Secure Folder” and “Move out of Secure Folder” options – as shown in the featured image at the top – are missing from the stock gallery app.
Here are some complaints:

From Galaxy Note 9 to Galaxy S9 and S8, we’ve seen complaints from users of almost all recent flagship smartphones. Following are a couple of screenshots shared by affected users showcasing the missing option.
Turns out this is an officially acknowledged problem. However, the confirmation from Samsung regarding this issue is buried deep inside the official Samsung Knox documentation online.
As you can see in these screenshots, Samsung has also offered a temporary workaround which includes uninstalling the stock Gallery app to downgrade its version. So, it’s safe to say the problem is with the latest version of the app.
While it’s good that the South Korean company has officially acknowledged the problem, it would have been better if users would have been informed about it in a more public way.
As of now, there’s no timeline as to how much time it will take for Samsung to fix the issue. Here’s hoping the fix arrives sooner than later. And rest assured we’ll let you know as and when that happens.
Meanwhile, do share your experience in comments below if you are also affected by this problem.
