Roku is one of the most popular streaming devices that compete with Amazon Firestick and Google Chromecast.

Using Roku devices, you can watch free and paid content on your big screen using the Internet. All you need is an HDMI port on your TV, and you are good to go.

But for the last few months, Roku users seem to be riding a rollercoaster that introduced new features with the Roku OS 10 while revealing some really serious issues with the device.

Issues such as YouTube not working and Roku remote losing volume and control are still affecting many users.

Having said that, the latest problem that seems to have made a comeback on Roku devices is the “Insufficient Power” issue.

In June 2020, Roku device owners complained that they suddenly experienced the issue even though they used the power cord that came with the box.

Same with me. Nothing suggested worked to resolve. Weird thing is, it will work fine for awhile, then crash. I think it may be a heat issue. Streaming stick +, less than one year old. I am having the same ‘insufficient power’ error message which started out of nowhere. Nothing has changed and I have been using the power cable that came with the device plugged into a wall socket not the tv. Roku Express Model 3900X SN e63922092317

Recent reports indicate that the problem has resurfaced for some users. Roku owners say that the issue has appeared out of nowhere and claim that they haven’t changed anything.

Keeping in mind the number of user reports, Roku has updated its support page that suggests some resolutions for the “Insufficient power” issue.

Some of the official workarounds suggest using a different USB port, using a cable that came with the Roku device, and connecting to a different power outlet.

Nonetheless, the above-suggested solutions might not work for everyone, so we’ll keep an eye if Roku releases an update that permanently fixes the issue.
