The Android 10 update is now live for the Redmi Note 8 Pro users in several regions. This news might have made Redmi Note 8 Pro LineageOS users a bit jealous as they are still stuck with the earlier OS version.
However, in good news for such users, Redmi Note 8 Pro LineageOS 17.1 has added Android 10 support. This latest custom ROM build for Redmi Note 8 Pro LineageOS 17.1 is now available for download and is the work of developer TheImpulson.
Along with Redmi Note 8 Pro, LineageOS 17.1 also added support for Moto Z. This custom ROM for Moto Z is the work of developer erfanoabdi and is now available for download.
Android 10 (Android Q) update for Moto Z is a big thing, considering the device is almost four-year-old (released in June 2016). The handset was not eligible for the official Android Pie update. So, one could expect there would be no official Android 10 update for the device as well.
Prior to these two devices, LineageOS 17.1 also brought Android 10 support for Redmi K20, Mi 9T, Poco F1, Google Pixel 2 XL and Redmi 5A.
LineageOS is one of the most popular custom ROM available currently. It supports almost all smartphones. One thing that makes this custom ROM standout is that users get frequent updates and more features are added with every update.
Moreover, the features added are actually useful to the end-user. LineageOS team is small and primarily depends on donation from fans.
