The duo is among the most popular Xiaomi devices and reports of the OEM working hard to push the Redmi Note 8 Android 11 update surfaced back in November.

It is a known fact that Xiaomi provides the Redmi Note series devices with only one Android OS update while the Mi series devices get two.

The latest info suggests that the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro might actually be up for a second Android OS update which has not been the case for the Redmi Note series devices so far.

While it is unclear how long it will take for the said update to arrive, Xiaomi usually takes a couple of weeks to migrate from the last Android OS beta to the latest version’s beta.

The OEM has not made any official announcements on the matter while a Xiaomi Device team member also stated that the device in question will not get the latest OS update.

Nevertheless, the info from the release notes of the latest beta update make it clear that the OEM plans to update the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
