3 months on, global Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 update still under internal testing

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is among those devices that are yet to bag the MIUI 12 update. It has been more than three months since the MIUI 12 global stable beta update recruitment started for the device in question.

While the Chinese variant received the MIUI 12 stable update back in July, there is still no sign of even a beta stable update for the global units. Also, the Indian variant received the MIUI 12 beta stable update by July-end but the wait for a wider rollout is still on.

It must be noted that the device was part of the second round of the MIUI 12 update rollout schedule which is already over. Now, some new information has surfaced and it does not come as a relief. A user has shared a cryptic screenshot of their System update page on the Mi community.

The screenshot shows the MIUI 12 logo with MIUI 11 version 11.0.1.0.OFGMIXM. This is highly confusing as no new update is available for the Redmi Note 7 yet. To clarify this glitch, a Mi community moderator has stated that it might have happened because of some server-related issue.

Also, the moderator went on to say that the Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 update is still being tested internally and will be released once testing is completed. This is a tad disappointing as the stable updates usually roll out sooner once the public beta programs go live.

Since it has been over three months, Xiaomi should have at least provided a MIUI 12 global beta stable update for the Redmi Note 7. Hopefully, the OEM soon releases the MIUI 12 update for the global Redmi Note 7 units.
