Original story (published on June 13) follows:
Going by the recent developments, there is some bad news for the Redmi Note 7 users waiting for the MIUI 12. Because as per the announcement, Xiaomi has delayed the MIUI 12 beta update for the phone.
For those who are unaware, Xiaomi releases MIUI beta updates for its eligible devices in China, every week. Global units also used to participate in this beta program but, it was later scrapped for the Global ROMs.
And now along with the announcement for the MIUI 12 China Beta ROM, Xiaomi has also made it clear that due to several stability issues, the Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 Beta update will be delayed till further notice.
On top of that, Xiaomi has also suspended the MIUI 12 update for the Mi 9 and Mi 10 Lite. Here is what the post reads:
Due to stability issue, Update is delayed for Redmi Note 7 and suspended for Mi 9, Mi 10 Lite.

This step is not first of a kind, and previously we have reported that the MIUI 12 beta updates have been halted for 3 weeks for devices like Redmi K30 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro.
Not only this, but Xiaomi has also paused the MIUI 12 beta updates for the Xiaomi Mi CC9e and Redmi Note 8 stating that both the devices are adapting to Android 10, as the reason for it.
Now it will be interesting to see how this goes down with users of the Redmi Note 7, Mi 9 Lite, and Mi 10 Lite who were eagerly waiting to experience the MIUI 12 features on their phones.
After all of these decisions, we will have to wait and watch whether this also affects the actual stable rollout plans because the beta updates are now delayed further and there is no ETA as to when it will resume.
We will keep you posted once some more information related to this pops-up from Xiaomi.
