Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 is a custom skin that has created a lot of hype lately. While the OEM started with the second round of the MIUI 12 update schedule back in August, the likes of Redmi 8A are still in-line to get the latest custom UI.
It was reported way back in July that Xiaomi Redmi 8A might get the MIUI 12 update in August. However, that never transpired and device owners are still waiting to get a taste of MIUI 12 considering many devices have already bagged it.
The Redmi 8A picked up the Android 10 update by July-end in China but that too was based on MIUI 11. While the update version 11.0.2.0.QCPCNXM brought the OS update, users of the Redmi 8A are more inclined towards the MIUI 12 update.
This is simply due to the fact that Xiaomi’s latest custom skin has a lot to offer in terms of UI improvements as well as features. Also, the OEM has listed the Redmi 8A in the second round of the update schedule which makes it even more hard for users to wait for it.
Now, it seems that the Redmi 8A MIUI 12 update might take some more time as another MIUI 11-based update is rolling out in China. Xiaomi has re-released the Android 10 update as version 11.0.3.0.QCPCNXM in China as the previous OS update was pulled because of reasons unknown.
This is still good news considering the OEM provides only one OS update to the Redmi series devices. So, if you own a Chinese Redmi 8A variant then you can grab the OS update as it is live over the air.
Nevertheless, those who want to go for manual installation can grab the update from the download link given below. It must be noted that this is a Chinese ROM and does not include any Google apps and services so it is recommended to flash it only on a Chinese Redmi 8A variant.
- Device: Xiaomi Redmi 8A

Those who received the previous OS update in China can also grab this update as a small incremental build. However, Xiaomi Redmi 8A users will still have to be patient for the MIUI 12 update as it seems that the OEM is taking its time furnishing it.
That said, we will provide details on the Redmi 8A MIUI 12 update once more information becomes available. Meanwhile, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker to stay updated on the topic.
