This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (from November 04, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi Redmi 8 is one of the few devices for which the MIUI 12 update is yet to arrive.

We reported back in early October that the Redmi 8 MIUI 12 update might arrive by the end of the same month.

However, that did not transpire and the Redmi 8 received the October security update without the latest custom skin.

After a short while, it was reported that the said update for the device in question may have been delayed to an unknown date later this year.

Now, some new development has surfaced which suggests that the much awaited update might be out for the Redmi 8 soon.

The information comes from the Mi Community where a user has asked for details about the official MIUI 12 release date for the Redmi 8.

While the release date remains a mystery, a Mi Community moderator has indeed stated that the update will arrive soon.

This might also mean that users of the Redmi 8 might receive the MIUI 12 update alongside the November security patch.

However, this is still based on our speculation as the moderator has not mentioned the update coming along with the November patch specifically.

Also, the moderator has simply stated that users should wait for the official announcement as the update will be released soon. So, it is still unclear exactly how soon that is going to be.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide details when more information becomes available.
