Realme X2 & Realme X Android 10 (Realme UI) to Pie official rollback tutorials released (Download links inside)

The Realme X2 and Realme X released last year and both devices came with Android 9 Pie pre-installed. Since then, the Realme X2 and X have picked up the Android 10 update alongside the company’s custom skin called Realme UI.

Realme UI brings a ton of new features and improvements over the previous Android Pie based build including a revamped UI. Further, we haven’t seen any major issues pop up with the Android 10 (Realme UI) update for the Realme X2 and Realme X. Thus, the Realme UI update for the duo seems to be solid and without major flaws.

But if for some reason you’re not happy with the Android 10 update for the device, Realme has now made it easy for you to roll back to Android Pie. This will return your phone back to its original state in terms of the software experience.

The OEM has finally released the rollback package to Android 9 Pie for the Realme X2 and the Realme X. Further, the company has also shared the tutorial for users to follow in case they aren’t familiar with the process. So we will share the steps along with the download links for the Android 9 Pie package for both devices.

However, before proceeding any further, Realme has shared a few important things that you need to know:

1. After roll back, ALL OF YOUR DATA WILL BE ERASED! Please make sure to backup before you Proceed.
2. Roll back operation may probabilistic have unforeseeable impacts on your phone.
3. Roll back operation will modify some of the system functions, and prevent you receiving the latest realme UI push.
4. If you want to experience the reame UI version(Based on Android 10) after roll back, you have to manually download the full realme UI version package from the official website to update.

5. This package is released and available for India users only.

If you’ve understood the risks involved with rolling back to Android 9 Pie from Realme UI (Android 10), then continue reading on. Further, make sure you’re on the software version C.04 on the Realme X, and version C.11 on the Realme X2.

That being said, you can now proceed to download the Android 9 Pie rollback packages for the Realme X and Realme X2. Once again, make sure to download the correct file for your device to avoid bricking your phone permanently.

If you’ve downloaded the file to your computer, you will have to transfer it to your phone’s storage. However, if you’ve downloaded the file directly to your phone, you can proceed with the next step. Head to the downloaded OZIP file location via the File Manager app.

Once you locate the file, which by default, should be in the Downloads folder if you downloaded it directly on your phone, tap on it. You should then see a pop-up asking you whether you want to update the system, tap on ‘Upgrade Now‘.

That’s it, now you have to wait until the process finishes and the device should reboot itself. After the reboot, you’ll be able to configure the phone as you did the first time you switched it on. Now that you’ve got Android Pie running on the Realme X or Realme X2 again, you will not be able to update to Android 10 via an OTA package.

Instead, you will have to manually download the update file for Android 10 and install it on your device. Thus, make sure you know what you’re getting into before proceeding with the Android Pie rollback on the Realme X2 or X.
