Realme has done a fine job with its in-house skin over Android called Realme UI in terms of features, animations, and functionality.
Matter of fact, Realme’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, recently took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a poll wherein Realme UI got 49% of the total votes at the time compared to OxygenOS, One UI, MIUI, and stock Android.
While the poll might not represent the opinions of users from around the globe, it definitely goes to show that Realme is on the right track with its custom skin over Android.
The company usually engages with its userbase and implements suggested features or improvements in its custom skin. This strategy from Realme helps keep fans loyal and also entices others to join the club.
Now, it appears Realme is now working on introducing yet another useful feature to the Realme Camera application.
The feature we’re talking about here is the option to switch between the rear and front cameras while recording videos.
This information was shared by a moderator in response to a user who suggested Realme add the feature to its Camera app. The moderator claims that the developers are already working on it.

At present, the only way to switch between the rear and front cameras in the current Realme UI 2.0 camera application is to stop the video recording and then switch the camera.
As you can see from the screenshot of the current Realme UI 2.0 Camera app UI, there’s no option to switch between cameras during the recording.
Other OEMs such as Samsung allow users to hop between the rear and front cameras without having to pause the video recording.
Therefore, if Realme introduces the option to switch between cameras in Realme UI 2.0, it would be a welcomed addition.
Given the fact that Realme UI 3.0 is still far off, it’s more than likely we’ll see this feature being added with future Realme UI 2.0 updates.
Realme has already released the stable Realme UI 2.0 update for the Realme X50 Pro and Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. It’s also currently beta testing the Android 11-based skin on a few other devices.
As usual, we will keep track of any further developments and will post an update once new details emerge regarding the option to switch cameras while recording videos in the Realme UI Camera app.
