After every month or so, Realme’s CEO — Madhav Sheth — takes to YouTube to answer a few questions that Realme users ask using the hashtag #AskMadhav. The questions range from topics like software updates to new product launches.

This means that each time an #AskMadhav video goes live, we get to know more details about the brand and its plans. The latest video arrived yesterday as Episode 18 of the AskMadhav series. As expected, there’s a good bit of information that was shared.

In fact, the very first question that Madhav addressed was regarding the pre-installed apps that have been banned by the Government of India. In response to this, he claimed that all banned pre-installed applications can be manually uninstalled by users.

Further, the Clean up storage feature will also be removed via an OTA update in early August. Xiaomi also announced a similar approach to removing the Clean Master app from their phones. And speaking of updates, Madhav did provide a few details regarding the Realme UI 2.0 update based on Android 11.

According to him, the Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 is being worked on at the moment. At present, the Realme X50 Pro and the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition are the only two smartphones from Realme that have got the Android 11 beta update which comes with Realme UI 1.0 onboard.

However, since he has confirmed that Realme 2.0 is being worked upon, we can expect to see it arrive alongside an upcoming Android 11 beta update. Another device that may get the Android 11-based beta soon could be the Realme X2 Pro, which at present is part of a long-term beta testing program.

Realme UI 2.0 should also roll out to other eligible devices over the next few months. Here’s a list of Realme phones that might get the Android 11 (Realme UI 2.0) update. Nevertheless, updates weren’t the only thing spoked about in the video.

Here are a few other highlights from Episode 18 of #AskMadhav:

  • Realme buds 3: Something unique coming next month (Aug)
  • Starry mode: Won’t be made available for other existing Realme devices
  • Default phone and messaging app replaced with Google apps: Upcoming phones will bring the change, but existing phones will not get it
  • Nightscape mode (found on the Realme C11) won’t be made available for C3
  • More watch faces will be available via OTA in a month
  • Range of 5G smartphones much before the network is ready in India
  • 125W Ultra dart charger with an upcoming flagship
  • More AIoT products
  • Realme is considering entering the laptop market

As you can see, there is a lot of information that has been shared by Madhav Sheth via the video. Some bits are exciting while other bits such as the choice to not bring the ‘Starry Mode’ feature to existing Realme phones are a bit disappointing.

Although, he does say that they are still exploring possibilities, therefore, all hope is not lost yet. Nevertheless, here’s the full video in case you wish to see everything that was covered by Madhav:
