New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on July 23, 2020) follows:
We earlier reported that Realme C2 will be getting its Android 10 based Realme UI 1.0 update in September. Well, the road appears to be rocky as Realme C2 July security update has been pulled down.
Realme C2 was launched last year and recently started receiving its July security update version A.27. However, the phased rollout of the security update has now been suspended by the OEM.
This OTA update is suspended. We will make an announcement when the update is resumed.
The announcement came from a Realme moderator and another announcement will be made once the rollout resumes. Not much information regarding the suspension has been provided. While many users already received it, those who didn’t are demanding an explanation from the OEM.
The July security update was supposed to be rolled out to all users soon but it seems that it still required some fine tuning. Those who didn’t receive it in the phased rollout are disappointed.
But, such hiccups are common especially when the software development team is working tirelessly to deliver timely updates. Let’s hope such problems don’t affect the Android 10 (Realme UI 1.0) update rollout.
Android 10 is out for many Realme devices and now that Realme C2 users are also expecting it in September, things don’t look so bad. Also, the OEM is working on Android 11 and Realme X50 Pro has already received its Android 11 beta update.
There is no information on Android 11 update for Realme C2 as the device is yet to get its first major OS update. We hope that the OEM makes an official announcement regarding the July security update soon.
Update 1 (July 25)
Realme has released a new update for the Realme C2. It brings the July security patch and also bumps the software version to A.28 from the previous A.27 update that was suspended. Further, users who installed the A.27 update will also receive this new bug fix update.
