Realme has been pretty steadfast when it comes to rolling out updates to its devices, be they regular security patches or bug fixes, and even Android version updates. The Realme 5 devices (Realme 5, 5s, and 5i) have been pretty well supported.

In late May, the Realme 5 and the Realme 5s got updated to Android 10-based Realme UI but the Realme 5i was left behind for some reason. However, the Realme 5i quickly followed the other two by bagging its Android 10 build.

Today, these three devices are getting a little more love from Realme by bagging yet another update, this time, the June 2020 Android security patches. This update, C.49 for all three devices, also brings a bunch of bug fixes to these devices.

Some of the optimizations that this update brings include the speed of pressing the power button to light up the display. The camera has also received a little enhancement in the fluency of photographic preview when in portrait mode.

The following changelog for the update is similar across all three devices.

The update has already been spotted on all three devices; Realme 5, Realme 5i, and Realme 5s as the RMX1911EX_11_C.49, RMX1911EX_11_C.49 and RMX1925EX_11_C.49 respectively.

As is often the case with updates from Realme, this is also an OTA update. As such, this update will be rolled out to eligible Realme 5 devices in due time.

It is impressive to see OEMs, even ones from China, trying to push out regular security patches to their devices and staying on top of these updates for that. All this adds up to build a more secure platform.
