[Updated] Real Debrid down, not working or connecting? You're not alone

The Internet allows access to all kinds of files from countless sources and through multiple methods (direct downloads, P2P, etc.). Download managers were born to make it easier to access these files through a ‘hub’.

In the download manager segment, Real Debrid is one of the most popular names. Although the tool goes further allowing direct streaming of multimedia from many File Hosting services too.

Now, multiple Real Debrid users are unable to access the tool as it is currently down, not working or connecting with any service.

According to multiple reports, Real Debrid users have been unable to connect the tool with supported services or add-ons.

Real Debrid is quite popular among Kodi users, combining it with video add-ons like Umbrella, Wako and others. However, they can no longer connect the tool to their add-ons at the time of writing this story.

Real Debrid down? Not working with Umbrella. Is this happening for anyone else? Real Debrid is not saying they’re down, but I can’t connect with Umbrella. I revoked authorization, and when I click Authorization now, I cannot connect.

Interestingly, the problem seems to be the expiration of the Real Debrid’s SSL certificate, although the company is yet to acknwowledge this:

Quite strange that big companies forget to renew their SSL cert because its happened multiple times before

The reason why the company forgot something as important as renewing its SSL certificate is still unknown. However, as long as the problem is still present, there’s a potential workaround:

I went into my Nvidia Shield settings, Device Preferences , Date & Time… Roll the day back to March 20, 2023. Restart your Nvidia Shield & should be good to go… Reauthorizing Real-Debrid also works.

Also, don’t forget to fix your real date once Real Debrid renews the SSL certificate of their web platform.

02:37 pm (IST): The issue has been resolved, and the Real Debrid team is giving 2 Premium days to all clients as compensation.

05:27 pm (IST): Team Real Debrid explained that a delay while reissuing the renewal of the SSL certificate for their web API was the reason for the outage.
