It is increasingly looking like the Razer Phone 2 might be the last in the company’s brief stint as a smartphone maker. Following its launch in October 2018, it was natural that by now a successor should be in place, but none so far.

Instead, we’ve heard stories about Razer potentially calling it quits, meaning the Razer Phone 2 may be the last smartphone you see from the company. Amid all these, owners of the device are turning out to be the victims of the company’s failure to capture the mobile gaming market.

One would think the fact that the Razer Phone got two Android OS updates would automatically qualify the Razer Phone 2 to receive two major OS updates. But to date, it seems there is no assurance that the device will get a second OS upgrade to Android 10.

With uncertainties still surrounding the Razer Phone 2 Android 10 update release, the company is just sending a polite reminder to owners of the device that they are not completely forgotten.

If you own the Razer Phone 2 and you have been looking forward to Android 10 update, the wait is still on. For now, though, the latest July 2020 security patch is up for grabs – even before July is here.

Airborne updates may take days or even weeks before hitting the entire target base. That said, your Razer Phone 2 may receive the incoming July update somewhere over the weekend or probably next week, so stay patient. The OTA size is 80.56MB, so don’t expect any groundbreaking changes.
