[Realme C3 too] PUBG Mobile 0.19.0 update downgrades graphics settings from 60fps to 30fps on multiple Samsung phones

PUBG Mobile’s latest 0.19.0 update brings a host of new changes. From them, the introduction of a new map called Livik is the most exciting addition. It rolled out to iOS and Android users a few days ago. And it’s worth noting that Season 14 is yet to kick-off. You can check out some leaks for the upcoming season here.

Livik is now the smallest map in the game as it is only 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers in size. Unlike other maps that accommodate 100 players, the new map only allows 52 players in a match. Moreover, it’s the first mobile-exclusive map in the game.

The map also gets two exclusive weapons that are the P90 sub-machinegun and the Mk12 marksman rifle. Tencent has also added a cool Monster Truck vehicle to Livik. Of course, there are a few other changes and improvements. However, there seems to be one massive change that users did not expect to see.

Several Samsung Galaxy A series and Galaxy M series users (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) are disappointed to see the ‘Extreme’ frame rate option missing. After installing the PUBG Mobile 0.19.0 update, these users are reporting that they cannot play the game at 60fps.

Prior to the new update, certain Galaxy A series and M series phones did indeed have the ‘Ultra’ and ‘Extreme’ frame rate options. But the screenshots shared by users show that both frame rate options have been removed. Furthermore, some users suspect the issue arrived with the June security update.

Users are now limited to playing the game at 30 frames per second. Of course, the devices in question were not powerful enough to offer 60fps either way. Hence, it is possible that Tencent took the step to limit the frame rate of these devices.

Neither PUBG Mobile nor Samsung has addressed the problem at the moment. If this was an unintentional bug, it’s possible that Tencent will release a fix for the issue. However, if this is indeed an intentional move, affected Samsung users may be limited to 30fps from here on.

It appears that the problem isn’t only affecting Samsung users. New reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) suggest that Realme C3 users have also noticed that the PUBG Mobile 0.19.0 update has removed the ‘Ultra’ and ‘Extreme’ frame rate options.

In response to a user’s complaint, a Realme community moderator suggests reinstalling the game and adding it to Game Space. This has not been proven to fix the issue yet. Hence, we will continue to follow the situation to update you on the matter.
